1942 Seagrave Pumper
1942 Seagrave Pumper. The truck is 24 ft long, 8 ft wide, and about 9 1/2 ft tall with the light on top. Originally sold to the U.S. Navy. The paperwork is from Seagrave, Contract # 86797 2-10-42, Serial # B3183, Model 66E7, Date Made 6-17-42. 750 Gallon Triple Combination. Paperwork states: Tag For Los Alamitos Naval Air Base. Later sold/sent to Village Of Downey in Idaho in 1959.
We purchased from an owner in Pocatello ID, who obtained it from the Village of Downey when they auctioned it off. This owner claims he didn't do anything with it other than park it in a tree row for 15 years before selling it to us.
There was a fleet of these trucks made it show serial #'s B3180 to B3192 they all went to the U.S. Navy.
There is 6,440 miles on it, has a dual ignition V-12 motor, and the 6 volt wiring system. We have completely re-wired everything and put in new spark plugs/wires, distributor caps, rotors, etc. Also flushed the rear differential, radiator, brake lines, pump, steering box, oil pan, etc.
The pump is functional, but the water tank leaks pretty bad and the valves are damaged.
We have more pictures of what it looked like when we got it, and what it looks like after it was fixed up. Email if you would like to see more pictures.
We have all the original papers, pictures, manual, and the original order form & pictures when it was just done being built and everything.
Clear Colorado title & tear sheet stating it weighs 11,360 pounds.
Asking $10,000 OBO. We have a little over $10,000 in it but willing to let it go for less, so make an offer. It is currently located in Haxtun, Colorado 80731 (Northeastern Colorado).
