8/30/2011 (Redding, California) - Marshall Catboat, Grandpa's 1966, 18' Sanderling. $11,000. New hinged mast, centerboard and EZ Loader galv trailer. Newish sail, lines, jackstays, Evenrude 4hp. Clean, not bristol. Trailer sailed at Trinity Lake last 25 years. This beautiful catboat is hull number 63, original gelcoat on hull, deck has original cream paint, a bit faded, but could buff up. Bronze rub rail, ports. Stainless hand holds and cleats, with some teak cleats for halyards and other lines. Old bottom paint, haven't needed it since the boat has been in Trinity Lake about 4 or 5 months a year, then in the pole barn for the off season. Hull is true, no bunk deflection. Original head removed, bronze thru hulls still there. Dual drop centerboard table. 400 lbs of lead pigs, 50 lb. each, but only 300 lb. in, since it has been sailed by grandpa, a fair weather sailor. He never used the three reef points and is ready for a patio boat. The two stroke 4 horse Evenrude pushes it at hull speed, but doesn't sink the stern. The new centerboard is not loose on its pin, Grandpa kept it in a slip or on the mooring, not beached. Sail cover good. Has hummingbird fish-finder with depth and speed, transom mount transducer.
