1978 Ford Durango

Prior to 1999 I had never heard of a Ford Durango. Early that summer my wife spotted this one for sale. It had 92,000 original miles when we bought it, and it now has about 102,000. We still drive it occasionally during the nicer weather and put about 1,500 miles a year on it.

The Ford Durango was built from 1978 through 1983 by National Coach Products of Los Angeles, CA. They produced about 220 units during this period. They would receive brand new Ford Fairmont Futuras, then chop and re-outfit them. They would then return them to various Ford dealerships to be sold as new vehicles.
