During the 1980's I was dating the grand-daughter of Barbara Billingsley and had the pleasure of meeting her on many occasions. Each year on December 22nd she would throw a terrific Christmas party for her friends and relatives. Included in the guest list were the actors she worked with on the "Leave it to Beaver" TV series,
Jerry Mathers who played Beaver, Tony Dow who played the big brother, and Ken Osmond who played the neighborhood bad-boy Eddie Haskell. Barbara remained close to those boys long after the series was finished. The Christmas parties were held at Barbara's restaurant (Billingsley's) in Los Angeles which is managed by her two sons. She passed out lovely presents to the guests and in some of the treats each guest would find a $100. bill. I was amazed at how energetic and young she appeared although she was then a senior citizen. I have very pleasant memories of a very lovely lady.
