In 1990, I was waiting in line at 30 Rockefeller Plaza for tickets to see Late Night with David Letterman, back when he was still on NBC. I had left the line briefly to find a bathroom. On the way to the bathroom, I literally ran into the singer, Joan Biaz.

She was heading to a taping of The Today Show. I said, "You're Joan Biaz!." She smiled and said, "yes." I said, "I think you're great." And she said, "Thanks." Then she walked away.
