On my first visit to LA with my husband in 1979, we had a marvelous dinner at The Brown Derby. Across the room, I saw John Wayne laughing! I dropped my fork and started screeching! I got up from our table abruptly, knocking over my chair and ran across the room! As I stopped by his table, he looked up and smiled! I was absolutely thrilled! He graciously gave me his autograph and invited my husband and I to sit with him! I declined because I didn't think I would be able to sit at the same table with him and behave myself! Chuckle!

The fact that he was so gracious left me with a memory that I treasure today! Good manners never go out of style!
