I was 15 years old in 1977 when Leonard Nemoy returned to Broadway to take over the role of Dr. Dysart in the production of Peter Shaffer's "Equus". My best pal and I rode the train up from Brooklyn to see the play and get his autograph.
After the play we waited outside the stage exit to see him. It got late and very cold. When Mr. Nemoy came out of the theater and found us, half-frozen and alone on the streets of NYC at night, he gently scolded us and put us in a taxi cab, which he paid, and sent us home.
We didn't get his autograph, but we had a great story to tell!
