I will never forget working the graveyard shift at Waffle House in Brandon, Ms. Brandon was a mid size town right outside of Jackson Mississippi. Most week nights were quiet, and except for the usual late night customers, things were usually slow. One night however, was quite different. I looked out the window directly in front of me, and saw two or three black vans pull up. I announced "here comes a group" to my fellow co-workers. Now let me mention I was the youngest working in the entire restaurant and clearly was the only one who listened to rap music because nobody even knew who the man was when he walked through the glass door. Yes, it was Percy Miller AKA Master P. Being born and raised in Louisiana I was excited to see a celebrity that came from the same place as me, but I did stay calm. The first thing he said to me was "We gonna get everything to go..and I'm paying." It was a circus taking all of those orders and getting them out,but in the midst of it Master P. stopped me and said "Can I get another sweet tea?" I was so excited I didn't even realize his son, also a celebrity known as Lil Romeo, was sitting at the high bar that I was ducking under when I called my friend to tell her who was in Waffle House. When all the excitement was over there was a huge mess to clean and a lot to talk about. The best thing was there was also a nice tip left on his credit card for me and the other waitress.
