Shadowhawk Blades is a demonstrating smithy that offers a unique historical immersion experience to festival patrons of all ages. By engaging all of the senses, Shadowhawk Blades creates a memorable encounter that patrons will leave talking about – and return year after year to enjoy again.

WATCH
Throughout the day, Shadowhawk Blades demonstrates the art of blacksmithing with a focus on how blades are made. Patrons can see a sword take shape – from the fire to the anvil to the grindstone. Set demonstration times can be arranged but groups of any size - from just one person to as many as can cluster around - are entertained at whatever time they appear.
LISTEN
During the forging process, running commentary is given on the process of smithing and technique involved, historical anecdotes are narrated, and explanations abound on how the smithing of yesterday impacts our lives today. Questions, be they vague or detailed, are gladly answered and lively audience interaction is encouraged.
DO
As a distinctive feature of Shadowhawk Blades, patrons can themselves become involved in the process of smithing. Select patrons are invited to step behind the anvil and put hand to the hammer. With options varied as just a couple of blows to try it out, making a trinket to take home, or forging out the blade of their custom ordered knife, patrons can touch a piece of living history. – Festival may opt not to permit patron participation.

Shadowhawk Blades travels as a demonstrator/performer and there is a small fee for our services. We will travel any distance and travel fees are waived for locations closer than 100 miles if you cite this ad.
