Ted Williams

by Everett Garvin
(Groton, MA USA)

At age 16 (year probably 1938), I hitched hiked with a friend from Worcester MA to Boston to see a Red Sox game; this was in 1939; of course I was in lost cost seating...after game and when stadium was empty my friend an I stood outside Red Sox locker room exit...after a long time who should exit...Ted Williams....we said "Hello Ted" and he waved at us, but did not speak... for us and even after all these years.. I still say, "I met Ted Williams".
