You may remember it as the location in which President Bill Clinton delivered his 1992 and 1996 election victory speeches. Here, in the 1930s, the state park commission created a tranquil, eight-acre lake and surrounded it with rustic cabins. The park offers several hiking trails of varying difficulty, including the 14.5-mile Butterfield Trail, which follows an old stagecoach route past scenic sites such as Vista Point and Blackburn Creek. In addition, white water enthusiasts can enjoy Lee Creek's 10+ miles of good runs. Detailed information about the park's facilities is available at the visitor center.
Old Spanish Treasure Cave Sulphur Springs, Arkansas Location: Hwy 59 Contact Phone: 479-787-6508 Website: www.spanish-treasure-cave.com Description: Located near Sulphur Springs, about a half hour drive from Bentonville, the Old Spanish Treasure Cave is a fun side trip. Take a guided, narrated tour underground, where the temperature stays a steady 56° F all year long. Although remnants of Spanish exploration have been found in the cave, the elusive treasure said to be buried within has never been discovered.
