Bali & Beyond is a company of Los Angeles performing artists inspired by the cultures of Indonesia. The ensemble offers original music and theater, traditional Gamelan music and Indonesian arts presentations. Bali & Beyond produces concerts, workshops, and residencies for universities and civic venues; music, visual effects, and consultations for the feature film and recording industry; and educational programs for arts organizations, museums, and public schools. The ensemble serves as guides to the musical and theatrical arts, as well as the culture of Bali, Indonesia. Our presentations offer translations of Balinese arts experiences in language Western audiences can easily understand. A small chamber ensemble, Bali & Beyond presents Balinese music in microcosm, displaying delicate counterpoint and rapidly interlocking ornaments, played on traditional Gamelan instruments.

Bali & Beyond's credits include National Geographic Society special “Bali, Masterpiece of the Gods,” the Nonesuch Explorer CD “Bali” and the Bridge Records CD “Kecak,” Paramount Pictures' Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Hollywood Pictures/Walt Disney Productions feature film, “Camp Nowhere,” starring Christopher Lloyd, and the MGM feature film, “Wild Bill.” The artists provided educational programs for the Music Center of Los Angeles and the California State Summer School for the Arts. Their

original music has been featured by the Improvisational Theater Project of the Mark Taper Forum, Pacifica Radio, and KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. The directors have produced and performed numerous grant events, festivals, and residencies for the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles. Performance credits include: The Eastman Conservatory, Cincinnati Conservatory, Oberlin, University of Calgary, Arizona State University, Central Michigan University, Occidental College, Universities of Wisconsin, Nevada, Utah, Northern Illinois, Kent State, Pennsylvania, Penn State, and Indiana; Harvard, Yale, and Princeton; UCLA, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Santa Barbara; Other venues include museums, libraries, and local institutions such as the Hollywood Bowl, Pomona College, Cal Arts World Music Festival, Mingei International Museum - San Diego, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Museum of Television and Radio - Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Getty Museum and many more...
