Paul Smith - Folk Singer & Guitarist - Rogers, Arkansas

by Paul
(Rogers, AR, USA)

Paul Smith is an accomplished folk singer and an outstanding guitarist. He began playing and singing professionally in 1976 in a duo called “Brisky Winds." The group got its name from the title of a song written by Paul. Now he is an independent musician, a member of ASCAP, a song writer, and a recording artist who has produced four CD’s.

Paul’s music has an appeal to a wide range of listeners. He prefers to perform solo and in addition to his amplifying sound equipment he uses three different acoustic guitars for variety. A 6 string, a 12 string and a concert guitar. Paul’s finger style guitar playing is similar to that of John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan. These are some of his favorite artists and he performs many of their cover songs. The blending of Paul’s guitar work and singing has been describes as a “very a relaxing sound”. After all these years, Paul’s music continues to touch the hearts of those who listen to him.

Paul is new to Arkansas. He comes from Ocean City, Maryland where he did most of his recording. Sadly his wife of 27 years died unexpectedly in April of 2007. As is true with many musicians, out of calamity comes creativity. This sad event has brought to birth many beautiful new songs written by Paul but as of yet have not been produced on CD. Paul remarried in October of 2010 and so this is what has brought him to Rogers, Arkansas.

Paul is willing to travel several hours from Rogers, AR.
