Firestarters on Stage

Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters play a mix of original and some traditional music with their own distinctive arrangements. The Firestarters formed in 2000 and have played in numerous venues throughout the US. Drawdy's prolific songwriting promises to take them to the top of the Celtic/world/roots music scene. Before forming the Firestarters, Roger released two solo albums, "Longing for Home" and "Dance in the Heather." He gained international attention with the release of his track "For Erin's Sake" on the "Trees are Life" CD produced in Dublin, Ireland by the Earth Wisdom Foundation. Together with the Firestarters he has released five CD's: "The "Emancipated Hostage" in 2000, "Touched by the Sun" in 2001, "Live Fire" in 2003, "Open Seas, Empty Skies" in 2005 and their very latest release "Hallowed Ground" in November, 2007. In particular, the last two releases are all original music and lyrics written by Roger and arranged by Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters.

The Firestarters are now producing a VERY special performance? Leabhar na hÉireann (A Book of Ireland). This original musical performance begins in ancient times, continues through the struggles of occupation and uprising, then concludes with the exhilaration of freedom and the subsequent attached responsibilities to Ireland's people and to the environment. Topped by brilliant original music and invigorating execution onstage, a Firestarters show is always a memorable experience. The show will be unveiled this year at the Dublin Irish Festival on August 1st.

IMAX Theater, downtown Indianapolis, has requested the band to produce a video promo of the Leabhar na hÉireann show to be shown in September when they host the International Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) conference. This IMAX Theater also hosted the 2007 video album release of the Firestarters CD album and DVD, Hallowed Ground, a concept album with an environmental theme. The IMAX?s intent is that a producer attending the international GSCA conference will want to pick up the Firestarters Book of Ireland show.
